About Jack

A real person to understand the case, explain the options and keep the next step clear.

Jack Cousins beside a canal in Amsterdam

Hello, I’m Jack.

I’m Head of Mortgages at Lockhart Murphy, and this is my personal website for the cases I work on. My advice work covers residential mortgages and protection, with conversations around buy-to-let, international clients and specialist property finance.

Understand it properly. Explain it clearly.

A self-employed client’s earnings may need more explanation than a payslip. An overseas deposit needs a clear trail. A property deal with a deadline needs a realistic funding plan. Those details are where I focus my attention.

I want you to understand why an option fits, what it costs and what has to happen next. If the evidence needs more work or the timing is unrealistic, that should be part of the conversation early.

Professional background

I am CeMAP qualified — the Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice. Mortgage and protection advice is provided through Mortgage Force (UK) Ltd. Lockhart Murphy is a trading style of Mortgage Force (UK) Ltd. The firm’s regulatory disclosure and fee information can be found on the fees and complaints page.

A practical UK contact

Alongside the advice work, I offer a separate consultancy for businesses and overseas investors who need agreed UK representation, professional introductions or project coordination. The scope and fees are agreed separately.

Beyond the desk

I love the gym, following Tottenham and finding somewhere new to explore. The photo here was taken in Amsterdam. The felt character is the illustrated version of me; the advice and conversations come from the real one.

Working with me

A case with a clear plan.

  1. A proper conversation

Your goal, income, property and deadline. We establish what matters before discussing products.

  2. A clear recommendation

I explain suitable options, the total costs and the evidence needed to support the case.

  3. Application to offer

I handle the application and lender questions, and explain progress and any conditions.

  4. Completion and the next review

We keep the legal and funding steps connected, then plan ahead for your next mortgage review.

Let’s make your next move clearer.

Tell me what you want to do. I’ll help you understand the next step.
