Look beyond the headline prize money
Prize receipts alone do not describe the money available for household borrowing. We establish how you trade, the costs recorded in the business and the income evidenced by accounts and tax records. Sponsorship terms, tournament travel and receipt currencies add detail to the assessment. A future ranking or prize is not treated as an assured repayment source.
Keep travel and property plans connected
A UK base, a home for family and a property to let can require different lending routes. Explain where you live, how the property will be occupied and whether any move is already agreed.
How I approach the case
We begin with what you want to achieve, your timescale and any part of the case that needs explaining. I review the evidence and suitable lender routes, then explain the available options and their costs. A recommendation follows the individual assessment; an initial conversation does not commit you to an application.
Where legal, tax or other specialist advice is needed, we identify it early so the finance fits the wider transaction. Tell me about any change in employment, borrowing, deposit or property details before proceeding.
What to prepare
- Accounts and relevant tax records
- Prize receipts and payment currencies
- Sponsorship contracts and expiry dates
- Business costs and current commitments
- Residence and proposed property use
You do not need every document before saying hello. Start with a short outline; detailed or sensitive records should follow through an agreed secure route.
Income acceptance, borrowing amount and term depend on the lender’s individual assessment. Future playing contracts or sporting earnings are not guaranteed. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments.
Your questions, answered
Can a strong recent season support an application?
It is relevant evidence, but it does not guarantee that a lender will annualise or fully accept those earnings.
Do business expenses matter?
Yes. Accounts, tax records and the way earnings are produced help distinguish gross receipts from personal income.
