Show a reliable UK footprint without inventing history
We check the electoral register where eligible, address consistency, UK bank activity and any existing credit agreements. Overseas records do not automatically transfer into UK credit files, so we focus on accurate evidence and suitable lender criteria rather than repeated applications.
How I approach the case
We begin with what you want to achieve, your timescale and any part of the case that needs explaining. I review the evidence and suitable lender routes, then explain the available options and their costs. A recommendation follows the individual assessment; an initial conversation does not commit you to an application.
Where legal, tax or other specialist advice is needed, we identify it early so the finance fits the wider transaction. Tell me about any change in employment, borrowing, deposit or property details before proceeding.
What to prepare
- Passport and immigration status
- Complete UK and overseas address history
- UK bank statements
- Full UK credit report
- Income and deposit evidence
You do not need every document before saying hello. Start with a short outline; detailed or sensitive records should follow through an agreed secure route.
Do not take unnecessary credit or submit multiple applications simply to create a score. Mortgage eligibility depends on the full case, including residence, income, deposit and property.
Your questions, answered
Is no UK credit history the same as bad credit?
No. A limited file means less UK information is available; bad credit means adverse information has been recorded. We review the actual report and wider evidence rather than treating those situations as interchangeable.
Should I take a credit card before applying?
Do not open borrowing solely to manufacture a score. Accuracy, address consistency, banking history, affordability and the full application matter. New accounts and searches may also affect the picture.
Can an overseas credit report be used?
It may provide useful context in some circumstances, but overseas records do not automatically become a UK credit history or replace the lender’s own checks. We establish what the particular case and lender require.
