Choose the type of UK support
You may be exploring a business opportunity, coordinating a property purchase, or trying to get a project moving while living in the UAE. Start by describing the outcome you need and the work already commissioned. Jack can discuss UK representation, reporting and introductions around that objective. The service is London-based; meetings, travel and any wider UK coverage are agreed as part of the appointment.
Map the companies and people involved
If your UAE business is the intended client, identify its legal name, jurisdiction, ownership and the person authorised to instruct. A mainland company, a free-zone business and an individual are different counterparties: the brief should say which is involved, without assuming one set of documents is sufficient for every UK provider. Keep proposed UK ownership separate from the entity currently holding the funds.
Set a GBP budget alongside your AED budget
The UAE central bank maintains an AED–USD peg. This does not fix the cost of a sterling purchase in dirhams. Note the currency and date of each estimate, and allow the professional team to identify transfer costs and funding dependencies. If an invoice or completion payment has a hard date, record it in the project plan so a late transfer does not become a last-minute surprise.
Plan a useful London visit
Where you intend to travel, list the decisions that require your presence before filling the diary. Agree who arranges introductions, what information each professional needs in advance and who records the follow-up actions. A short visit is more productive when ownership, budget, legal questions and the purpose of each meeting have already been set out. Do not treat a meeting as confirmation of finance or an investment recommendation.
Keep the finance appointment separate
For a UK home or rental property, start with the UAE mortgage page. For a substantial loan or a short completion window, the large-mortgage and bridging guides explain the different questions to prepare. Jack’s consultancy role can help organise the brief; mortgage advice and each independent professional’s work have their own scope and terms.
