Make contract and allowance changes visible
A Saudi employment package can support a different monthly budget from the one you will have after a return to the UK. Explain the contract term, cash allowances, family costs and whether the employer will continue paying them. Include commitments in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere.
Build a useful first-conversation pack
- Signed contract, income certificate and matching salary credits
- Residence evidence and remaining employment or assignment term
- Deposit origin and any planned change in home or school costs
Start with an outline of the purchase price, borrowing required, income and property use. Send detailed personal documents only through the secure route agreed with Jack.
A question specific to this starting point
Will every Saudi salary allowance count towards a UK mortgage?
No allowance should be assumed acceptable. Identify whether it is regular cash, a reimbursement or an employer-provided benefit, and whether it is expected to continue. The lender decides how each component is assessed.

Prepare the income evidence
Employment packages can include base pay and separate allowances. The contract, income certificate and bank statements should explain the amounts and whether each element is expected to continue.
Make the cross-border preparation specific
A residence permit and employer details may form part of identity and employment verification. Any document certification requirement is agreed with the proposed lender.
Planning a £1m+ UK purchase or refinance?
The country and income questions sit alongside the size and nature of the UK property. See £1m+ mortgages, large homes and country estates and complex property types. For a wider wealth or ownership picture, there is also a dedicated UHNW mortgage page.
How I approach the case
We begin with what you want to achieve, your timescale and any part of the case that needs explaining. I review the evidence and suitable lender routes, then explain the available options and their costs. A recommendation follows the individual assessment; an initial conversation does not commit you to an application.
Where legal, tax or other specialist advice is needed, we identify it early so the finance fits the wider transaction. Tell me about any change in employment, borrowing, deposit or property details before proceeding.
What to prepare
- Residence evidence and nationality
- Income in SAR with bank credits
- Deposit source and transfer history
- UK property and intended use
You do not need every document before saying hello. Start with a short outline; detailed or sensitive records should follow through an agreed secure route.
Country and currency acceptance are checked on a case-by-case basis. This page does not imply an office or regulatory authorisation in your country of residence.
Your questions, answered
Does living in this country guarantee access to a UK mortgage?
No. Residence is one part of the assessment, alongside nationality, income, credit background, deposit and property use. The country pages explain how to prepare an enquiry. They do not guarantee lender acceptance or imply local mortgage authorisation.
Link to this answerCan I buy a UK rental property while living abroad?
That is a question we can explore against your circumstances and current lender criteria. Start with the intended tenancy, ownership, property price, deposit and rental estimate. UK and local tax or legal implications need advice from appropriately qualified professionals.
Link to this answerWhat if my plans include returning to the UK?
Tell me the expected timing, intended occupancy and what will happen to your employment and income. Buying a home to live in, buying a rental property and refinancing an existing UK home are different briefs. The application should accurately reflect the intended use and foreseeable changes.
