Separate a fight purse from sustainable income
The gross purse, deductions, business expenses and eventual receipts can differ. We review the contractual and accounting evidence rather than relying on a headline fight figure. Sponsorship and other work should be identified separately. Future bouts, promotional announcements or expected winnings are not the same as income already evidenced.
Consider commitments between fights
Mortgage payments continue during gaps in the sporting calendar. We discuss the household budget, existing debt and the resources you intend to keep available, without assuming that another bout or payout will arrive on schedule.
How I approach the case
We begin with what you want to achieve, your timescale and any part of the case that needs explaining. I review the evidence and suitable lender routes, then explain the available options and their costs. A recommendation follows the individual assessment; an initial conversation does not commit you to an application.
Where legal, tax or other specialist advice is needed, we identify it early so the finance fits the wider transaction. Tell me about any change in employment, borrowing, deposit or property details before proceeding.
What to prepare
- Bout agreements and completed purse receipts
- Accounts and relevant tax records
- Management deductions and business costs
- Sponsorship or other income evidence
- Current commitments and accessible reserves
You do not need every document before saying hello. Start with a short outline; detailed or sensitive records should follow through an agreed secure route.
Income acceptance, borrowing amount and term depend on the lender’s individual assessment. Future playing contracts or sporting earnings are not guaranteed. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments.
Your questions, answered
Can a single large purse be used as income?
It needs to be understood in context. A lender may assess the trading history and sustainability differently from the available deposit.
Can I use fight earnings for a deposit?
Explain the source and provide a clear receipt trail. Deposit acceptance and mortgage affordability remain separate assessments.
