Turn completion into an organised handover

Sports club first 100 days coordination

Completing a club acquisition is the start of a different job. A first 100 days plan gives the incoming leadership a view of immediate commitments, unfinished transaction actions and decisions that need attention before longer-term improvements.

Work directly with Jack. Scope, responsibilities and fees agreed before work begins.

Who this is for

For new or prospective club owners who want coordination around the transition while their leadership team runs the club. Planning can begin before completion, subject to authority and confidentiality, with a focus on agreed priority workstreams.

Practical work. Visible outputs.

Know what you are asking me to deliver.

Agree the immediate priorities, the people involved and the output you need to make your next decision.

A transition action register

An agreed list of handover tasks, owners, dependencies and evidence needed to close each item. Transaction leftovers are separated from day-to-day operations and possible future projects.

A decision and reporting rhythm

An agreed reporting format for the owner and authorised leadership. Urgent issues have an escalation route, while routine updates are grouped so important decisions do not become lost in email.

An accountable next-phase plan

A review of completed work and outstanding priorities at the end of the agreed assignment. Any continuing support is defined explicitly, with deliverables and responsibilities confirmed before it begins.

Connect the moving parts

The work behind the next step.

My role is to organise the agreed work and keep questions moving. Your appointed professionals remain responsible for their specialist advice.

Handover and authority

Coordinate the authorised transfer of records, contacts and outstanding actions. Your legal advisers and leadership confirm appointments, permissions and responsibilities; I track the practical follow-up without assuming a director or management role.

Financial visibility

Bring the accountant’s reporting timetable, funding conditions and known operating commitments into the coordination plan. Finance professionals remain responsible for forecasts and advice; the owner decides how to address the issues identified.

Operational continuity

Work with the appointed club leads to identify essential venue, supplier, people and fixture-related dependencies. I coordinate updates against their priorities while specialist and operational responsibilities stay with the people appointed to carry them.

Stakeholders and future projects

Track agreed meetings and communications with relevant staff, volunteers, supporters and commercial partners. Proposed improvements become defined briefs for assessment, rather than promises of revenue, planning permission or sporting performance.

From first conversation to next decision

A clear route through the work.

Explore the stages we can agree together. The sequence follows the project; it is not a promised completion timetable.

Open any stage to see what it involves. You stay in control of the decisions.

Before completion: prepare

Identify the intended handover contacts and immediate questions within the authority granted. Planning does not assume that the acquisition will complete.

Days 1–10: establish continuity

Confirm the action owners and known urgent commitments with the incoming leadership. Record missing handover information and the professional input needed.

Days 11–30: create visibility

Set up the agreed reporting cycle and follow up finance, facilities and adviser actions. Separate verified completion evidence from a verbal progress update.

Days 31–60: review priorities

Bring unresolved dependencies and proposed improvement briefs to the owner. The leadership team decides what should proceed and which specialists need to advise.

Days 61–100: hand over or continue

Review the agreed outputs, transfer outstanding actions and confirm the next scope if support continues. Dates are a planning framework, not a guarantee of delivery.

Illustrative brief · not a client case study

Illustrative proposed engagement: a focused transition brief

The situation

An incoming owner wants to keep track of professional handovers, financing follow-up and facilities questions while the existing club team continues its day-to-day work.

The work to agree

A possible assignment would establish an owner-approved action register, coordinate fortnightly workstream updates and escalate decisions that cannot be resolved by the assigned contacts.

A useful output

The proposed deliverables are regular progress reports and a final handover of open actions. This is a hypothetical service example; it does not describe an actual club or promise operational or sporting improvement.

You do not need every answer before getting in touch. Tick the points you can already outline and use the rest as prompts for our conversation.

Before we begin

Questions worth asking.

Start with the objective and your current stage. We can work out the practical scope together.

Meet Jack

Do we have to commit to 100 days?

No. The timeframe is a planning structure. We can discuss a shorter initial assignment, a specific handover task or support around agreed milestones, with availability and fees confirmed in writing.

Will you act as chief executive or a director?

That is not part of this service. The owner and appointed leadership retain their governance and management responsibilities. My role is the coordination and reporting expressly agreed in the engagement.

Can you help develop commercial opportunities?

I can help turn owner-approved ideas into clear discussion briefs and coordinate relevant professional input. I do not promise sponsors, revenue growth, property development consent or commercial contracts.

Can planning begin while the acquisition is ongoing?

Yes, where the authorised parties agree the scope and information access. Pre-completion planning must respect confidentiality and existing control; it does not authorise me to instruct staff or change club operations.

These sources explain the wider context. Rules depend on the organisation, entity and transaction and, for sports clubs, the sport and competition. Confirm the current position with the appointed specialists.

A useful first conversation

What needs to move forward?

A short outline is enough: the objective, the current position and the date you are working towards.

A clearly agreed role. You retain commercial and investment decisions. Consultancy does not include legal, tax or regulated investment advice, a funding guarantee, or handling client money. Where a transaction needs regulated corporate finance, investment or other specialist advice, the appropriate professional must be appointed separately. Mortgage and protection advice is a separate engagement through Mortgage Force (UK) Ltd.
