Start with the decision you need to make
A London purchase, an introduction to a UK professional and ongoing oversight of a property project require different appointments. Explain what you want to achieve, the stage reached and which decisions remain open. Jack can discuss a defined coordination or representation role, whether you are in Kuwait City or elsewhere in Kuwait. Agree the scope before asking anyone to incur costs or approach counterparties.
Make a family or business brief workable
Where several family members, shareholders or advisers are involved, name the person who can instruct work and the people who need updates. Keep the proposed purchaser, the source of funds and the decision maker distinct. A useful brief records who approves fees, who signs documents and which matters must go back for a decision. For a company, include the ownership structure and existing professional contacts.
Keep the sterling budget visible
Set out the UK budget in pounds as well as the currency in which your funds are held. The Central Bank of Kuwait describes the dinar as linked to a currency basket; that is not a fixed KWD–GBP exchange rate. Record the exchange assumption used in the budget and ask the relevant specialist about transfer timing and costs. Include professional fees and contingency alongside the purchase or project figure.
Separate representation from lending advice
For a London home, rental investment or time-sensitive purchase, the finance question needs its own assessment. A consultant’s progress report is not a mortgage offer, valuation or legal due-diligence report. Use the dedicated Kuwait mortgage guide for residence and income questions; use the large-loan or bridging guide if the amount or deadline makes that the better starting point.
Agree the reporting rhythm
Discuss whether you need one meeting, introductions around a defined issue, or regular updates during a project. A concise update can record what changed, documents awaited, decisions needed and the next milestone. Confirm the frequency, responsible people and escalation point in writing. Jack can coordinate an agreed brief; solicitors, surveyors and tax advisers remain responsible for their own advice.
